Charlotte Maskelony is a dramaturg, writer, editor and translator.
She is assistant dramaturg in the music theater and concert divisions at Theater Freiburg in Germany. Currently, she’s working on Prometheus goes Taranto, a protest against the ILVA steelworks in Taranto, Italy, which weaves Luigi Nono’s La fabbrica illuminata into mythology from Aeschylus and Hesiod. In August, she’ll begin her MFA in Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism at Yale’s David Geffen School of Drama.
Charlotte has worked with Washington National Opera, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Glimmerglass Festival, American Opera Projects and the Saarländisches Staatstheater. She is an alumna of the Congress-Bundestag Exchange — a year-long State Department fellowship to Germany — and is proficient in German, holding a C1 certificate from the Goethe Institute.
